Hidden in downtown L.A. is Olvera street, the oldest street in the city and also one of the most interesting. You literally feel as if you have left the city and been transported to a different city or even country! The street is lined with historic buildings and filled with an incredible Mexican marketplace bustling with rich color and traditional music.

It's also a great spot to eat authentic mexican food…and get serenaded by a local….not awkward at all!!

Brands we love : Osborn Shoes

Christian, one of our men's artists turned us on to this awesome shoe brand, Osborn, who are based out of Guataemala City.  They combine humanitarian efforts with fashion, and employ local craftsmen who build all the shoes by hand, even personally signing them upon completion.  Each shoe is totally unique and uses incredible woven in amazing patterns and colors that you just don't see anywhere else. I want some on my feet right now please…..

Our Junk Food artist Danny turned us onto this amazing portfolio of photography by Keenan Gibbs. It oozes west coast surf and skate appeal and is worth checking out to get that California feeling.

….played live at The Greek Theater in L.A. last week. The Greek is an epic amphitheater located in Griffith Park that is an incredible live venue, especially in the summer! Seeing the Decemberists there, supported by Wye Oak, was an amazing experience x x

One of the best things about Junk Food moving offices to Culver city is all the new culinary delights available at lunchtime.  Pinches tacos is our new Mexican joint of choice …the tacos were AMAZING!!!  The fact that the decor is like a carnival is going on only makes the experience better. Tried watermelon juice for the first time too which is my new drink for the summer. Now I just have to find a great cocktail recipe using it…suggestions?

Motivated myself to get up at the crack of dawn and drive to Pasadena to go to the monthly flea market held at the Rosebowl….coffee made this trip possible...

Saw some Junk food fans as soon as I arrived!

The flea market has the most amazing collection of rare vintage tees…some of them cost hundreds.

They have collections of all kinds of things from clothing to cameras to furniture.. If only it wasn't SO SO hot there I could have focused in on picking up some bargains!!

Found this awesome collection of vintage war time patches on bay today.  The colors and embroidery techniques are so inspiring - they'd also make any jacket or tote instantly cooler..
