CRAZY CARPET ART

Ever since i saw the image of a carpet constructed solely of colored pegs I've been sharing this website with everyone...WE MAKE CARPETS, consists of Marcia Nolte, Stijn van der Vleuten and Bob Waardenburg, and they combine the traditional carpet weaving practice with modern day everyday objects, resulting in incredible art installations. There's no denying it...at Junk Food we LOVE a heart tee...the heart shape is so iconic and memorable, and can make the perfect, simple graphic tee statement. We've been seeing a lot if it around recently from high fashion to casual wear, but we love our new heart tees in the Junk Food Spring 2012 collection. JUNK FOOD ART HOUSE X MONOPOLY SHOW : THE PROCESS

Conceptualizing and producing garments for a catwalk show is a high pressure endeavor, but with the creative talent in our office combined with great partners such as artist Aaron Rose, designer Nazak Nowtash, innovators Lumi Inks, and most importantly, the great team at Hasbro, we were able to design and make 15 looks within a short time period. The hours were long...But the rewards were great! Here, Junk Food Art House invites you to see some of the behind the scenes process at our Los Angeles office...

JUNK FOOD ART HOUSE X MONOPOLY - BACKSTAGE & HIGHLIGHTS

Junk Food Art House's first catwalk show, in collaboration with Hasbro, also included other NY based fashion designers interpretation of Monopoly properties. We were really excited to see how these innovators in their field had been inspired too!  Team Junk Food turned up to the Met Pavilion around 4pm and had 3hours to rehearse, prepare the venue, do hair and make up, assort the gift bags and dress the models in their first looks before show time! Our looks were supported by garments from Sylvia Heisel, Renee Masoomian, Bobi, Andrew Charles, Boy Meets Girl and Andrea Valentini amongst others.
