L.A. IN ROUND 2 OF THE PLAYOFFS!

Against all the odds, BOTH Los Angeles NBA teams moved forward to the second round of the West Coast Division Playoffs.  The Lakers, helped by Metta World Peace's return from suspension beat the Denver Nuggets in game 7 at the Staples Center, and will now face the number one seeds, the Oklahoma Thunder.

The Clippers surprised everyone by out-toughing Memphis Grizzlies, who had home court, with outstanding performances from the bench.  They have the tall task of taking on San Antonio in round two. Definitely a nail-biting weekend for L.A. basketball fans, and now a LOT of excitement about watching our teams move forward in the competition...could an all-L.A. West Coast final really be a possibility now? What do you think?

L.A. IS RULING THE SPORTS WORLD!

After the Kings incredible playoff victory on Sunday, and the Clippers defeat of the Grizzlies in overtime last night, it's no surprise that Los Angeles is bubbling over with sports fever. The Lakers play tonight and hope to close their series with the Denver Nuggets.

A few of us from the Junk Food office went to show our support at the Staples Center last night, to cheer on the Clippers, who played into overtime to close out game 4 in the series! They travel to Memphis on Wednesday with the opportunity to put this series to bed and progress to round two....

A GREAT NIGHT FOR L.A. BASKETBALL!

Did you see the L.A. Clippers game last night?? They took on the mighty Miami Heat and defeated them in extra time... We never doubted CP3's ability to take them down, but I'm pretty sure it didn't quite go as the "three kings" had anticipated.  We LOVE the new Clippers team..

The Lakers had a similarly successful night, taking on the Utah Jazz. Kobe, despite his injury issues, scored an incredible 40 points, leading the team to defeat the Jazz 90-87 in overtime.  It was a nail biting night but they came through!!!

Will be interesting to see how the Lakers v Clippers game goes down this weekend...L.A. now has TWO mighty teams.

It would be an understatement to say that here in the Junk Food office we were happy to hear the news that the NBA lock out was over and that the season would in fact begin, albeit shorter than usual...!! We are ready to get this season going!
