DOG DAY!

It's no secret that here at Junk Food we have a pretty dog-friendly work environment. We love having the canine cuties wondering around - the usual suspects are Peanut and Jack (more on him later this week), but every now and again some more of their friends come into play.  On Friday we may as well have opened our doors as a doggy day care center...everywhere you looked...dogs!!!

Getting up to no good....

Sniffin' butts.....

How cute is Jack? We hope Fiona's friend comes and visits more often

DVF COLLECTION FOR GAP KIDS LAUNCHES!

What happens when you combine one of the biggest casual wear brands in the world's kids collection with one of the mos innovative fashion designers of all time? DVF for Gap Kids is what!!

This weekend The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles was over run with a miniature fashion frenzy marking the release of Diane Von Furstenburg's eagerly anticipated kids collection for GapKids.  The fashion giant's exclusive girls range for GapKids caters from newborn to age fourteen, launching in US stores and US online on March 15, 2012 and the rest of the world on March 28, 2012. The GapKids + DVF collection features iconic DVF prints, signature silhouettes and a bold color palette which are sure to delight every little fashionista out there.

GapKids was transformed into a little girls wonderland, featuring live music, a petting zoo, balloon art, paper doll crafts and a special runway built for children to strut their stuff.  Celebrity moms Alyson Hannigan with daughter Satyana,  actress Tiffani Thiessen and daughter Harper, models Milla Jovovich and Molly Sims, amongst others, showed up to check out the range.  The collection was, of course, delightfully cute and super stylish. Our favorite piece? The adorable pinstripe blazer with preppy badges - a perfect separate to throw on over a tee shirt or party dress.

Here at Junk Food we are so proud to have our JF GapKids collection sitting alongside the exclusive DVF line in GapKids stores nationwide. What an honor!

GREGORY ART SHOW @ SIREN STUDIOS ROOFTOP SESSIONS

Last Thursday night was a busy one. Before going to support Purple Melon at the Viper Room, we went to Siren Studios to the opening of their 4th artist series event featuring street artist Gregory.
The show took place on the rooftop of the studios, with incredible views of Sunset Boulevard, and packed with amazing art that was incredibly affordable.

The show named, There & Back, LA to NY, documented Gregory's memories over the last 10 years of his time living between these east coast and west coast centers, using a variety of media from ink stains, spray and marker tags to knife etching.  Gregory has been recognized as an up and coming power house on the street art scene and he just recently completed his first solo show at La Fonderie in Los Angeles to much acclaim.  The rooftop sessions show was particularly special, in that it benefited Communities in Schools, a non-profit foundation that helps establish student needs, by donating 10% of all show proceeds.

Busy night but can't argue with one filled with great live music and incredible art!

“I  make paintings to hang on your wall, play characters you meet in your dreams, and write stories you heard when you were falling asleep as a kid. I am a force in the world like my father.”

PURPLE MELON ALBUM LAUNCH @ THE VIPER ROOM

Last night we went to see one of our favorite up and coming bands play one of the most infamous rock venues in LA.  Purple Melon, a Brit Rock band hailing from London, but currently residing in L.A, played at The Viper Room, one of the Sunset Strips most popular clubs.

Junk Food has been following Purple Melon for a while now, and its exciting to see such a talented band be named No.2 in Billboards new hot sounds.  Their sound definitely finds inspiration from classic rock such as Led Zeppelin and the Doors but with infectious rock melodies. Even though they are a young band they sound like they have been around for decades.

Last night marked the launch of their new album, Henry's Rocket, and their performance was super entertaining, filled with lots of their British humor!  Not to mention they were outfitted in Junk Food tees for show!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF OUR JF KIDS TEES?

...we love them...if you make any t-shirt minature,  its cuteness triples!  We asked around the Junk Food office to see what peoples favorite tees from the new kids collections were.

MARIO, web designer

This Batman tee is my fave by far! Why? Very powerful (red and black on a white tee) I would “rock it” if they had it on my size. And so easy to match. Plus Batman is the man...LOL!

KATIE, Sales

My favorite kid’s tee is the bow tie tee.  It’s in the boys section but I think it would be adorable on a girl too paired with a ruffled skirt or colored skinny jeans.

My son hates dressing up so this is a fun alternative!

JANELLE, Art Director

It’s hard to pick which one is my favorite as I think they are all so cute- clothes are always so much cuter when they are so little! But since you are asking, I love the Kiss graphic tee for girls. It’s rock & roll and it’s girly- it’s a fun clean bold graphic that would be so easy to style on a little girl, the silhouette is really cute too.

For the boys, I just love the little bow tie tee, again so simple and looks so cute- making any little boy look like a handsome devil!

DANIELLE, Graphic Artist

I love the girls Minnie Mouse tee because of the colors, and I’ve always loved the simplicity of Minnie’s bow and nothing else. Plus, polka dots are always cute! It puts more of a unique spin on a well known character.

LOVE THIS STAR WARS ART

LA based artist Christopher Lee, spent 150 hours rendering these Star Wars illustrations on photoshop! I love how cute he had made all of the characters, even some of the more fearsome ones.

Impressive dedication to his love of the dark side! Show your love for Star wars by picking up one of our Star Wars vintage inspired graphic tees on our webstore!
